Seems we might be up for a little disappointment when the Galaxy SIV is announced in the next few weeks.

If the rumours are true then the octo-core CPU has been thrown out in favour of a cooler Snapdragon 600 1.9GHz quad-core CPU; when we say cooler we mean it runs cooler as the Exynos Octa was apparently running too hot for the Galaxy SIV to handle.

It’s a shame if it’s true, but there can’t be too many people demanding 8 cores on their phone and we doubt there are many apps that will fully utilise 8 cores.

Other reported rumours from the source are: -

  • 2GB of RAM,
  • 4.99″ 1080p FHD SoLux display,
  • 13MP camera,
  • a more square design with dimensions of 140.1 x 71.8 x 7.7mm

Increments on specs are easy to predict these days so nothing there is that exciting or groundbreaking. However design can always surprise us (take note Apple), so we hope for something bold come March 14th.
