Our Used HTC Flyer 32GB 3G - Unlocked (Grade B) Review

Everybody wants a tablet, but if you want an alternative to the iPad Mini what are your options for a 7" tablet? The HTC Flyer is HTC's answer to this question.

The screen is a 7" LCD multitouch-screen, a popular screen size that is great for watching videos or reading books in bed or on the go.

Inside the HTC Flyer boasts the following: -

  • 1.5GHz Scorpion CPU with Adreno 205 GPU,
  • 1 GB RAM,
  • 16 or 32GB of internal storage with the option of expanded storage via microSD cards of up to 32GB in size,
  • Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity with DNLA and hotspot support.

The HTC Flyer has two cameras which is fast becoming the standard these days. The rear is 5MP in size with the ability to record 720p HD video whilst the front camera is 1.3MP; smaller but the main use will be for video calling

Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) is the OS behind the HTC Flyer, this is however upgradable to 3.2 (Honeycomb). As per the usual Android set up you're given access to Google's suite of apps including YouTube, Gmail, Calendar, Maps and much more. Also as previously mentioned you're given access Google Play which will allow you to download thousands of apps and books along with the chance to buy and download the latest movies and albums. Also as with all modern HTC devices you'll benefit from HTC's unique UI: HTC Sense, which comes with two differing sets of controls depending on whether you're using the HTC Flyer in landscape or portrait mode.
